Floodplains are critical land-water interfaces which represent an intriguing intersection of biogeochemical cycles (C, N, Fe, S) and sustain freshwater supplies for millions.
Microbes exist in communities much like we do. Understanding their distributions and associations improves our knowledge of where they are, what they are doing, and why. Also elucidating how microbes interact with their environment is integral to unraveling these complex dynamics.
