                Nitrogen-cycling

Nitrogen-cycling microbial communities
Exploring the uncultivable majority...

Upcoming work explores how microbial communities respond to environmental perturbations on the local- and regional-scales using high-throughput 16S rRNA sequencing. Stay tuned for updates!

In the West, microbial activity under specific conditions has potential implications for metal- and uranium-release from subsurface soils to water bodies that sustain more than 40 million people in the Colorado River and Wind River Basins.

Future Work

Nitrogen is essential for life, and microorganisms can mediate every transformation nitrogen undergoes in the environment.
